KansasBio creates National Drug Development Accelerator

A Lenexa-based bioscience trade group is looking to bring more drug-development business to Kansas and the metropolitan area.
KansasBio, a nonprofit agency dedicated to boosting the life sciences industry, has created the National Drug Development Accelerator.
The new marketing effort is aimed at building the region’s pharmaceutical industry, which KansasBio said already has helped develop some of the world’s most successful drugs.
“This has kind of been the world’s best kept secret,” KansasBio President Angela Kreps said Friday.
The main focus of the accelerator will be to market the services of roughly 130 organizations to small and midsized pharmaceutical companies, Kreps said.
An advisory board for the alliance is expected to be named by late January.
