Orr Construction Management Inc. has won a second contract from Greensburg, Kan., to help rebuild the city after a tornado ravaged it in 2007.

Kenny Orr, president of Raytown-based Orr Construction Management, said Friday that his company won a roughly $3 million contract to serve as general contractor for Greensburg’s new downtown streetscape.

“If we get started in the next week or two, with a normal Kansas winter, we’ll finish it in August,” Orr said.

The company also is general contractor for the new $2.5 million Greensburg City Hall. The company broke ground on that project in October and is completing foundation work, Orr said. It’s scheduled for completion in mid-May.

BNIM Architects of Kansas City has developed a master plan for Greensburg and designed a new school, a business incubator, the city hall and the downtown streetscape. The city has attracted national attention, and been the subject of a cable television series, for its decision to incorporate green building concepts in its renewal.
