CBU achieves NCATE accreditation

Memphis Business Journal

Christian Brothers University’s Department of Education has received professional accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. 622 other schools across the country have the NCATE accreditation.

CBU’s program is designed for students seeking teaching licenses in early childhood development, kindergarten through high school and visual arts. NCATE requires its schools prepare students for work with diverse student populations and the constantly evolving education standards. NCATE is also recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Talana Vogel, chair of CBU’s education department, said the teacher education program will assure CBU’s students that their program is of the highest quality possible.

“Pursuing and achieving the NCATE accreditation demonstrates the Department of Education’s commitment to excellence,” Vogel said in a statement.
