Tech radio venture begins

The parent company of Honolulu's largest radio station group, AMFM Inc., may pioneer a new radio format with a new agreement. AMFM and technology-oriented media company CNET are joining forces to create what they call the nation's first all-technology radio format. The "techie" radio programming is to be launched on an AM station in the San Francisco Bay area later this month; after which the company plans to distribute the programming nationally by the end of this year.
