LavaNet/Tiki Technologies sell Scora
Pacific Business News (Honolulu)
The Hawaii anti-virus and spam-filtering company Scora has been acquired by the regional network consulting firm PDC Systems.
Score has been owned and operated by Tiki Technologies, sister company to LavaNet. The announcement Friday did not disclose the price.
"As the largest reseller of Scora over the last year and a half, we are impressed by both the performance and the future potential of Scora," PDC Systems CEO Shakil Ahmed said. "This step is strategic for us in order to move closer to our goal of being a one-stop-techshop for our clients."
Ahmed said he'll keep developing Scora, which has been on the market since April 2004.
"In fact," he said, "Scora version 1.4 is slated to be released Oct. 15."
LavaNet CEO Yuka Nagashima said LavaNews and Tiki Technologies, which share overlapping staff, will now be able to rededicate technical resources toward key projects to advance the quality of LavaNet service.
PDC Systems provides technology integration services to clients in the private sector, education and government. Ahmed is a past recipient of the Ernst and Young "Entrepreneur of the Year" award for Technology.
LavaNet is among Hawaii's largest independent ISPs.
