Export office to open at ASU’s SkySong in Scottsdale

The U.S. Commerce Department is opening an export assistance office in Scottsdale.
The U.S. Commercial Service facility will be located at Arizona State University’ SkySong center, home to a number of technology, research and international companies.
The federal trade agency already has offices in Tucson and Phoenix. The Scottsdale location is opening Wednesday, said Eric Nielsen, Arizona director for USCS.
The agency helps U.S. businesses expand and export into new international markets.
ASU has sought to bolster is research and development capabilities and better link itself to foreign markets and universities.
“In our increasingly global business environment, economic growth and job creation in the United States are largely accomplished through competitive exporting. Our partnership with the Commerce Department will complement our mission in a significant manner,” said ASU President Michael Crow.
