YoCream sales increase

Portland Business Journal

Frozen dessert maker YoCream International Inc. said its fiscal year sales jumped more than 50 percent.

Fourth-quarter sales for Portland-based YoCream (Pink Sheets: YOCM) were even more impressive, up 79 percent.

For the 12 months that ended Oct. 31, YoCream had $42.9 million in sales, up 52.2 percent from the year earlier. For the fourth quarter, its $13.3 million in sales is 79.1 percent up from a year earlier.

The company typically releases its revenue figures in advance of its full financial results, which are expected in January.

According to a news release Tuesday, the company’s core product categories — frozen yogurt and frozen beverages — remain strong, and management expects the double-digit growth to continue in fiscal 2009.

Shares of YoCream traded at $13.50 in late-morning trading, the same point at which it closed Monday. It has a 52-week high of $18.99 per share.
