In 2005, Major League Baseball's Florida Marlins flirted with the idea of relocating to San Antonio. That dance ended and the Marlins remain in Miami. The Missions are the AA affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

The waterway is lined with entertainment venues and curio shops. For those who'd rather sail than stroll, river barge rides are just the ticket.

On any given afternoon or evening, guitar pickers will break out into an impromptu performance under the old oaks or inside the tiny store next to the wood-burning stove. The dance hall is just a few boot steps away from the historic store and routinely hosts some of the bigger names in Texas music.
