Argonaut appoints new regulatory affairs executive

The Argonaut Group Inc. hired Daniel A. Cotter as the company's new assistant vice president and deputy general counsel for regulatory affairs.
He will report to Argonaut Group Senior Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel Byron LeFlore Jr. Cotter will be based in the firm's Chicago office.
In his new role, Cotter will have responsibility over all legal matters related to state insurance departments and regulatory compliance at Argonaut (NASDAQ: AGII). He was formerly senior counsel, assistant secretary and property and casualty liaison for Unitrin Services Co. in Chicago.
San Antonio-based Argonaut is a national underwriter of specialty insurance products in the property and casualty markets. It has assets of $3.1 billion.
