New fitness store opens at Pearl Brewery

San Antonio Business Journal

A new sports apparel store has opened at the historic Pearl Brewery located at the corner of Grayson Street and Avenue A.

Run Wild Sports is a locally owned and operated running and healthy lifestyle store that offers gear for runners as well as for enthusiasts of other fitness activities.

“We offer shoes, apparel and accessories for anyone, at any fitness level, who’s interested in healthy living,” says Catherine Austin, president of Run Wild Sports. “We want to make working out a fun and positive experience.”

Austin says she is seeking input about setting up a running club that could operate from the store. The store is located in the Can Recycling Building at 300 East Grayson St. along with the Synergy Studio, which offers yoga, Pilates, Nia and other dance and movement programs.

The store adds a new element to the mix of energy and creativity developing at Pearl, says Paul Beard, managing director of the Pearl Brewery.

“With the addition of the city’s new hike and bike paths that run through here and the River Improvement Project, this area is a natural draw for people seeking an active lifestyle,” Beard says.

The store is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It offers Brooks and New Balance sports shoes along with a variety of workout apparel, including a full line of reflective products for nighttime running and walking. The store also sells nutrition and hydration products and other accessories.
