Chevron Corp. will give $3 million to the Red Cross and other charities to spend on hurricane relief on the Gulf of Mexico coast and in the Caribbean.

San Ramon-based Chevron (NYSE: CVX) has significant operations in the Gulf of Mexico and along the coast. It has a major refinery at Pascagoula, Miss. The company sells gasoline under its Texaco brand in the Caribbean area.
