William T. Jackson named endowed professor in business at USF

William T. Jackson was selected as the Bank of America endowed professor in business at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg.
A College of Business visiting professor, he has focused on entrepreneurship and community involvement, connecting USF students to local businesses, a release said.
Graduate students in one of his courses dedicated more than 630 hours of social auditing services to Tampa Bay firms last summer. Students in another Jackson course provided almost 600 hours of consulting services to businesses seeking help from the Small Business Development Center, the release said.
Jackson’s commitment to social responsibility and promotion of entrepreneurial skills were among the reasons he was selected for the endowment, Bernie Craig, Bank of America president in Pinellas County, said in the release.
Jackson joined USF in May 2007.
The Bank of America endowed professorship in business was created in 1990 to recognize USF faculty doing community work.
